Brigitte's computer croaked a couple of weeks ago. Yes, computers do croak. Probably because it had been my computer for the past five years, and it's my habit to leave my computer on all the time. Who knows?

Anyway, her's is in the shop getting ready for the scrapyard and we have no money to buy another. So I brought my "boys" out of retirement, did a long and complex photo shoot and put them on eBay.

I'm actually really pleased with this shoot -- some of the photos look bizarrely real, because the figures themselves are so well-made (and expensive!) I'm offering 8 of them for $1400, which is probably $500 less than I paid for them, but they'll never sell -- I know that, but Brigitte doesn't, and she swears she'll do unmentionably bad things to me should they by any chance actually sell. This guy is called "Pierre, French Resistance" but is modeled after Brad Pitt, as you can see.

The bike is fucking astonishing. This is from an outfit called Dragon in Dreams Toys.

He alone must have run me $350. But they're all worth every penny!

This character's name is "Colonel Konig" and is modeled after Ed Harris in "Enemy at the Gates."

The resemblance is eerie. He cost at least $250. Again, worth every sou.

This guy's character is meant to be a generic undercover Gestapo man named "T. Becker." He is modeled after German actor Sebastian Koch, who plays many a Nazi in Western films. Also with a functioning umbrella -- $300 easy.

Guess who? They have a "70s Steve" out now but I simply can't afford it. He lost his glasses -- thanks, cleaning lady.

The guy is sniper Vasily Zaitsev (actor Jude Law) from the movie Enemy at the Gates

This is a fucking amazing likeness. Also over $250.

I angled the lights to give him a menacing look.

He is the likeness of incomparable actor Christoph Waltz.

This is my favorite: Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who planned Pearl Harbor.

This is an impeccable rendering of famous actor Toshiro Mifune.
